The chalet is situated in a quiet residential area and has impressive views of the surrounding mountains. It is a short walk to the nearest ski lift, and ten minutes’ walk or a three minute drive into the centre of the resort. Snow conditions permitting, you can ski back to within a short distance of the chalet.
Originally constructed in the 1970s, the chalet has been completely renovated to a very high standard, showcasing its original features and making use of antique oak planks for the floors, doors and library shelves. The spacious interiors feature an eclectic and tasteful mix of traditional and modern furniture, fabrics and artwork, creating a comfortable and relaxing environment for guests to enjoy time with family or friends.
The entry to the property opens into a spacious open-plan living space with a large open fireplace, sunken lounge, and a dining area with a table seating twelve. Neutral toned fabrics adorn the furnishings and complement the craftsmanship of the woodwork. Floor to ceiling french windows flood the space with light and open out onto a sunny south west facing terrace with panoramic mountain views.
A separate library with cosy seating is the perfect spot to enjoy a book and relax. The well-equipped guests’ kitchen can be accessed through sliding doors and has a breakfast table for casual occasions.
There are four bedrooms on the first floor. The spacious master bedroom has a luxuriously appointed bathroom with bathtub and access to a sunny balcony with stunning views. There are two further double bedrooms, one with an ensuite bathroom and the other with a separate private bathroom. One of these rooms is a converted Tyrolean ‘Zirbenstübe’ with antique carvings and furniture and with an operational traditional oven. Both the doubles can be configured with twin beds if desired. The fourth bedroom is a twin bunk room with a private shower room.
Half a level below, on the upper ground floor, there is a double/twin bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. A schnapps snug in the corner of the landing on this level is a lovely addition to the entertainment spaces.
Leading off the kitchen on the ground floor is a further double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom.
The lower ground floor has a lovely children’s room with three single beds and an ensuite bathroom. Also on this floor is a 40m² playroom which doubles as a cinema room for those family movie nights, and a wellness area with a gym, sauna and separate shower to pamper guests after a day on St Anton’s incredible slopes. A professional kitchen for the chef to create feasts, a laundry room and generous ski room completes the picture.
The chalet has one garage parking space and outdoor spaces for two more vehicles.
Chalet Maria Schnee is an exceptional property which delivers in terms of comfort, style, location, and access to St Anton’s legendary nightlife and skiing.
